Power Outages and Sags are nothing new to Florida Residents.  During a power outage, your only method of communication (unless you have a corded landline telephone) is your cellular device using its’ precious battery. Your communication time is now dependent on the life of your cell phone battery.  The only problem is that you only have a few minutes left.. what do you do?

..Feeling helpless yet?  We thought so.

OK.. let’s make life a bit less stressful and explain to you a few options and devices you can implement to soothe your nerves during the next power outage.

  • Solution #1:  Keep my home internet / WiFi ON PLUS Charge my cell phone during power outage
    • Purchase a U.P.S. (Uninterruptible Power Supply) Battery Backup system.  To keep a few network devices on (modem, router/wifi) for internet and your cell phone charging at the same time, we recommend going with the APC 600VA UPS Battery Backup & Surge Protector with USB Charging Port.   It has USB charging capability built-in (no charging adapters required), sufficient amount of battery run-time, and in a smaller than average size.  This is the best choice if you have a small data plan with your current carrier and need internet plus charging your cell phone simultaneously.
  • Solution #2:  Charge my cell phone only during power outage
    • We recommend getting an Anker PowerCore II Slim 10000 Ultra Slim Power Bank.  This little device can provide up to 3 1/2 FULL charges after you loose your utility power.. and it’s portable!   Bring it with you anywhere you may require a backup battery.
