In this article, we will explain how to disable Windows 10 Feature Updates from downloading and installing on your computer.  We highly suggest you to read Windows 10: Steps to Prevent Update Issues before continuing.  Once you’ve read this article and still experiencing issues then let’s begin.

Microsoft provides a troubleshooter tool package (or wizard) to show or hide updates in Windows 10.  This tool will let you choose to hide / disable a problematic Feature Update.  Not only can it hide Feature Update’s but it can also be useful for disabling Driver Updates that may cause problems for systems components and peripherals.

  1.  Download the “Show or hide updates” troubleshooter package  (Official Microsoft Download link)
  2.  After downloading, open the file which will display a window labeled “Troubleshoot and help prevent computer problems” — “Show or hide updates” —  Go ahead and click “Next” button
  3.  You will be presented with two options:  Hide updates and Show hidden updates — you will want to click on “Hide updates”
  4.  Scroll through the list and check the box for “Feature update to Windows 10, version XXXX” — Note: XXXX represents the update number — Click “Next” button

Tada!  You now have prevented this particular Feature Update from installing.
